ZVC Shines at the 505 Cycling Classic

Several ZVC racers raced the 505 Cycling Classic Omnium this past weekend. They were out in full force and seen in every race, dominating several of the races. There were many racers competing from surrounding states, bringing in steep competition. Among our ZVC racers were, Shane Cunico, David Rutledge, Jerry Garcia, Al Senft, Marcel Berger, Tamatha Risner, Joseph Garcia, Terry Casey, Kevin QuattleBaum, Eric Collins, Toni Bettini, Laura Burkett, Alissa Pajer, David Hughes, Patrick Gilmore, Jesus Palma, Gordon MacDonald, Josh Sanders, and James Peel.

In the TT race, Tamatha Risner finished a minute ahead of all of her competitors in the P123 A race; Alissa Pajer dominated the Cat4/5 category with Laura Burkett taking 3rd; Al Senft won the Masters A race with Jerry Garcia not two far behind for 2nd and Kevin Quattlebaum finished 4th; Marecl Berger won the Coll A category.

In the criterium, a few of the notable finishes go to Jerry Garcia for finishing 4th in the Masters A; Jesus Palma won the Cat 4; Laura Burkett finished 2nd in the Cat 4/5, and Joseph Garcia took 5th in the P123 category. In the road race, some of the notable finishes include, Tamatha Risner, who came across the line with the 2nd place finisher for a photo finish; Joseph Garcia finished 6th in P/1/2/3; Marcel Berger won the Coll A; Al Senft came in 2nd place Masters A; David Rutledge finished 5th in the Masters B; Patrick Gilmore finished 4th and Gordon MacDonald finished 5th in the Cat 5; Laura Burkett finished 2nd in the Cat 4/5.

For the omnium awards, ZVC took many podium spots, including Tamatha Risner winning the P123/Coll A podium; Joseph Garcia took 5th in the P123/CollA; Al Senft took 3rd and Jerry Garcia took 5th in the Masters A/Cat 3/Coll B category; Laura Burkett took top spot on the Cat 4/5 podium and Alissa Pajer took 5th; Patrick Gilmore took 3rd and Gordon MacDonald took 4th in the Cat 5.
